Contra Costa Behavioral Health Court

Our neighbors in Contra Costa have recently established their own Behavioral Health Court, and were featured last week in the Contra Costa times.

Until six months ago, Stacy Randolph lived on the streets of Pittsburg and shoplifted random items -- clothing, electronics, alcohol -- to sell for drug money.

The 37-year-old woman did not take medication for her serious
depression. She saw her seven children infrequently when she was not, "druggin', buggin' and stealin'." She was incarcerated in County Jail in Martinez six times in the past three years. . .
