The San Francisco Superior Court has been in the collaborative justice business for many years - it finally has its very own blog!
This blog is dedicated to distributing information and discussing ideas related to collaborative justice programs in San Francisco and nationwide. Sometimes called "problem-solving courts," these programs are dedicated to improve outcomes for individual defendants and the community. In the traditional justice system, a variety of issues like substance abuse and mental illness often propel what's known as "the revolving door," cycling defendants in and out of jail and prison. By focusing on the person, rather than simply the case, collaborative justice courts aim to close this "revolving door," and to restore both the individual and the community.
